What is ductwork insulation?
Ductwork insulation is a thermal or acoustic layer wrapped around or lined inside HVAC ductwork to control heat loss, stop condensation and reduce noise. Contractors need it on supply, extract and chilled air systems to meet the project specification. We install it nationwide to your M&E drawings and duct schedules.
The work in detail
The work covers external wrapping of rectangular and circular ductwork, and internal lining where specified. Bends, branches, dampers and access hatches are detailed so the insulation stays continuous and the duct remains serviceable.
Common systems are Isover Ductwrap and Rockwool slabs for thermal duty, with acoustic linings where breakout noise must be controlled. Chilled air ducts receive sealed vapour barriers; external ducts are finished in aluminium cladding or PIB.
We install to the project specification and TICA guidance, working from M&E layouts and duct schedules. Operatives hold CSCS and NVQ Thermal Insulation qualifications, with IPAF and PASMA for high-level work.
Quotations cover insulation and the specified finishes. The ductwork itself, builders' work and access equipment sit with other packages unless we list them.
Pricing comes from your M&E drawings, duct schedules and specification, or from a free survey on existing systems. We coordinate with the ductwork installer so insulation follows installation without holding up the programme.
