What is pipework insulation?
Pipework insulation is a thermal layer fitted around heating, chilled water, domestic and process pipework to control heat loss, prevent condensation and protect against frost. Contractors specify it on commercial and industrial systems to meet the project specification and energy targets. We install it nationwide to your M&E drawings and schedules.
The work in detail
The work covers supply and installation of pre-formed pipe sections cut and fitted around bends, tees, valves and supports. Foil facings are taped and sealed, and cold services receive a continuous vapour barrier so condensation cannot form under the insulation.
Typical systems are foil-faced mineral wool pipe sections from Isover and Rockwool, and phenolic sections from Kingspan. Thickness is set by the project specification, which normally follows BS 5422 guidance for the service temperature and pipe size.
Installation follows TICA guidance and the project specification. Our operatives hold CSCS and NVQ Thermal Insulation qualifications, and the business is Constructionline Gold accredited with public liability insurance in place.
The quotation covers insulation and standard finishes. Aluminium cladding, PIB or other weatherproof finishes for external runs are itemised separately so you can see exactly what is included.
We quote from M&E drawings, pipe schedules and specifications, or from a free site survey on existing buildings. There is no fixed online pricing because every system is different.

- Yes. We survey the installed work, identify what meets specification and complete the remainder. This is a common instruction on refurbishment projects.
